Art of Manga at the Brooklyn Museum11am to 6pm, day 2 of 2, Oct 3 to 4$30200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238East Coast debut of the first major Americas exhibition on manga as an art form, with more than 600 original drawings from ONE PIECE, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Inuyasha and more, plus a companion show on Japanese storytelling before manga. Halloween activities like pumpkin decorating, tractor racing, trick-or-treating, balloon artists and a Phantom Grounds walkthrough are included with a wristband, plus live entertainment on the Halloween Harvest stage and fall treats such as pumpkin-spiced funnel cake.
Zum Schneider Oktoberfest in Greenpoint12 to 8pm, day 3 of 3, Oct 2 to 4$2512 Franklin Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222Greenpoint biergarten's Munich-style Oktoberfest returns to its East River waterfront home for two weeks. Communal tables, Bavarian Festbiers (Paulaner, Weihenstephaner, HB Traunstein, Schneider Weisse), roasted pork shank, giant pretzels, live music and a rooftop biergarten with Manhattan skyline views. Ticketed seating sessions.
Greenpoint StoopFest1 to 7pmFreeLorimer Street between Nassau and Norman Avenues, Brooklyn, NY 11222First-ever Greenpoint neighborhood festival built around stoop culture and getting neighbors to actually talk to each other. Free food and drink from local establishments, a jazz quartet, live-band karaoke, a neighborhood quest, community mural, DIY art stations and photobooth on Lorimer Street, then a closing party at McCarren Parkhouse. Free with RSVP; food is limited so come early.
