The show traces six bodies of work made in Texas from the late 1930s to the early 1950s, from nature studies to light drawings, anchored by 48 recent gifts from collector Herbert Lust.

Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden ReopeningAll day, day 2 of 2, Oct 31 to Nov 1FreeIndependence Ave SW and 7th St SW, Washington, DC 20560The Hirshhorn's 1.3-acre sunken sculpture garden reopens after a major revitalization, with some 60 sculptures in a landscape redesigned by Hiroshi Sugimoto. Highlights include the 28-foot pool sculpture Eight by Elmgreen and Dragset and Yoshitomo Nara's new monumental series on the West Lawn. Opening weekend brings free public programs.
