The 53rd annual Village Halloween Parade marches up Sixth Avenue through Greenwich Village on Halloween night. Giant puppets, more than 50 marching bands, dancers and tens of thousands of costumed marchers take part in the world's largest participatory Halloween parade. This year's theme is Body and Soul. Watching is free; anyone in costume can join the procession.
