This year's design honors America's 250th anniversary with the torch of the Statue of Liberty. A Stalk Talk orients you before you hunt for clues and solve puzzles on the way to Victory Bridge. Jackson Heights Halloween Parade12 to 5pmFree37th Avenue & 89th Street, Jackson Heights, NY 11372One of NYC's largest Halloween parades returns to 37th Avenue: costumed kids, families, school groups, marching bands and dance troupes march from 89th Street to 76th Street, ending with thousands of goodie bags handed out to children. Organized by the Jackson Heights Beautification Group.
Dumboween2 to 6pmFreeDumbo Archway, 155 Water St, Brooklyn, NY 11201Dumbo's beloved Halloween tradition: the Howl-O-Ween dog costume contest on car-free Washington Street, the March to the Arch parade through Brooklyn Bridge Park led by a brass band and puppets, then the Archway Party with crafts, a photo booth, live music and candy. Over 60 local businesses hand out treats.

Park Slope Halloween Parade6:30pmFree7th Avenue & 14th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11215The Park Slope Civic Council's annual children's Halloween parade, this year themed The Haunted Forest of Brooklyn. Marchers gather at 7th Avenue and 14th Street, parade down Seventh Avenue to 3rd Street, and finish at the Old Stone House in Washington Park with spooky music from the Brooklyn Conservatory.
Village Halloween Parade7 to 11pmFree6th Avenue & Canal Street, New York, NY 10013The 53rd annual Village Halloween Parade marches up Sixth Avenue through Greenwich Village on Halloween night. Giant puppets, more than 50 marching bands, dancers and tens of thousands of costumed marchers take part in the world's largest participatory Halloween parade. This year's theme is Body and Soul. Watching is free; anyone in costume can join the procession.
Village Ghost Tours7pm, day 2 of 2, Oct 30 to 31$10441 Clarke Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10306Candlelit walking tours through Historic Richmond Town's village after dark, led by costumed storytellers sharing Staten Island ghost stories, folklore, and tales from the 3rd County Courthouse. Tours run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 and 8:30pm; no tours October 17. Ages 8 and up.
NYBG Día de los MuertosAll day, day 29 of 31, Oct 3 to Nov 22900 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10458NYBG's inaugural month-long Día de los Muertos celebration fills the garden with marigolds, a community ofrenda, calaveras, and a giant Catrina sculpture. Weekends bring folk music, MAZarte dance performances, and hands-on papel picado and silk flower workshops, closing with a parade and dance party on November 1.
